Indian statutory payroll, from the slip to the TDS return

PALBONPayroll extends PALBONPeople with the rules Indian employers pay by. Provident fund, ESI, professional tax and labour welfare fund land on the salary slip, and quarterly TDS returns and Form 16 are prepared from the same payroll.

Capabilities

What is inside PALBONPayroll

Statutory deductions

Employee and employer shares are worked out on each slip, and each statute can be switched on for the companies it applies to.

  • Provident fund with a voluntary top-up, and employer contributions in the CTC
  • Employee State Insurance for employee and employer
  • State-wise professional tax slabs
  • State-wise labour welfare fund

Company registrations

Keep the registration numbers of each company in one place and apply the statutes company by company.

  • Multi-company payroll switch in the payroll settings
  • EPF establishment code and ESIC registration number per company
  • Professional tax and LWF registration numbers
  • Statutory deductions apply only to the companies you list

Employee tax regime

Let employees see the tax under the old and new regimes side by side before they choose, and tell them when it is time to choose.

  • Tax regime selector page with a side-by-side comparison
  • HRA exemption and chapter VI-A deductions in the old regime
  • Surcharge with marginal relief in the tax calculation
  • One-click email asking an employee to pick a regime

TDS returns

Build the quarterly salary TDS return from payroll and move it through to filing step by step.

  • Form 24Q returns by financial year and quarter, original or revised
  • Deductee-wise lines filled from salary slips
  • Challans with BSR code, serial number and amount breakup
  • Validate, generate TXT, generate FVU and e-file, each as its own step

Form 16

Create a Form 16 for each employee from the fourth-quarter return and track both parts until the files arrive.

  • Form 16 records created from the TDS return
  • Part A requested from TRACES and Part B generated
  • Job status checked automatically every five minutes
  • Certificate file of each part saved on the record

Registers and bank file

Month-end reports for the statutory registers and for the bank, built from the salary slips.

  • Employee provident fund register
  • ESIC register and LWF register
  • Bank mandate report with bank, account number and IFSC
  • UAN, ESIC number, IFSC and payment mode held on the employee

Outcomes

What changes for your team

Deductions you do not key in

Statutory components appear on the salary slip from the employee's setup, so payroll staff do not calculate them by hand.

A TDS return from the payroll itself

The return and its deductee lines come from the slips already processed, with validation before filing.

Employees choose with the numbers in front of them

The regime comparison shows the tax each way, so the choice is informed and recorded.

FAQ

Questions about PALBONPayroll

Does it need PALBONPeople?

Yes. PALBONPayroll builds on the salary structures, slips and payroll settings of PALBONPeople and cannot run without them.

Can we file TDS returns from the app?

The app prepares the Form 24Q file and sends it for validation, FVU generation and filing through the Sandbox service, using the credentials you enter.

Do all statutes apply to every company?

No. With multi-company payroll on, each statute is switched on per company in the payroll settings, next to that company's registration number.
