Privacy policy
What this website collects, why, where it is kept and the choices you have. Written to be read, not to be scrolled past.
This page explains what information the public PALBON-Suites website handles, why, and what you can do about it. In this policy, we and us mean the organisation operating this website.
It covers this website only: the public pages that describe PALBON-Suites, and the contact form. If you sign in and use the products themselves, that use is governed by the agreement that covers your organisation's use of the products, not by this page.
- The website is self-hosted: we run it ourselves, on infrastructure we control.
- It has no analytics, no advertising and no third-party trackers, and it loads nothing from other domains.
- We store what you send through the contact form, so that we can reply.
- It sets only the cookies it needs in order to work.
What we collect
Information you give us
When you send the contact form, we receive your name, your e-mail address and your message. If you fill them in, we also receive your organisation, your phone number, the topic you chose and the product you are interested in.
Technical information
To deliver a page, the server has to process the request your browser sends: your network (IP) address, the page asked for, the time, and the browser and device type your browser reports. As on most web servers, these details may be written to the server's log files.
To protect the contact form from abuse, the server counts how many messages arrive from one network address over a short period. The count is temporary and is not linked to the content of any message.
What we do not collect
This website has no analytics, no advertising and no third-party trackers. Every file it needs (pages, fonts, images, styles and scripts) is served by this website itself, so your browser does not contact any other domain when you read these pages.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and follow it up with you, for example to arrange a demonstration or to answer a question about pricing or support.
- To deliver the pages you ask for, and to keep the website available and secure.
We do not use your details for advertising, we do not sell them, and we do not use them to build a profile of you.
Where it is kept
This website is self-hosted. It runs on servers that we operate or control, and the information described on this page is kept there.
A message sent through the contact form is saved as a record in our own system, the same installation that serves this website, so that the person who replies can see what you asked. If we have switched on e-mail forwarding, a copy of the message is also sent to our team's mailbox, and you may receive an automatic acknowledgement by e-mail.
How long we keep it
We keep contact form messages for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up, and we delete them when they are no longer needed. You can ask us to delete yours at any time.
Server log entries are kept for a limited time, for troubleshooting and security, and are then overwritten or deleted. The temporary count that protects the contact form expires on its own after a short time.
Who sees it
Your message is seen by the people in our organisation who handle enquiries, and by the administrators who maintain the system.
We do not share your details with other organisations, unless the law requires us to. E-mail is the one exception by its nature: if your message is forwarded to our mailbox, or we reply to you by e-mail, it passes through the e-mail services that we and you use.
Cookies and local storage
This website uses only essential cookies. None of them is used for tracking, advertising or analytics.
- A session cookie (sid). When you sign in, it keeps you signed in until you sign out or the session expires. If you have not signed in, it holds the value Guest and identifies no one.
- Display cookies (user_id, full_name, user_image, system_user). While you are signed in they hold your user ID, your display name, the address of your profile picture and whether your account can open the workspace, so that pages can show the right name and links. For a visitor who has not signed in they hold the value Guest, the value no, or nothing.
- A language cookie (preferred_language). It is set only if you pick a language on a page that offers a language selector, and it remembers that choice.
Visitors who never sign in are treated as guests: the cookies above carry no personal details about them.
If you switch between the light and the dark theme, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage under the name ps-theme; it stays in your browser and is never sent to the server. A colour theme you pick (Classic, Aurora, Midnight, Clarity) is saved in a cookie named palbon_theme_preference, so every page opens in it, and - when you are signed in - on your user profile, so it follows you to other browsers and devices. The cookie holds only the theme's name and lasts one year. If you never use the switches, nothing is stored.
You can delete or block cookies and local storage in your browser's settings. The public pages and the contact form keep working without them; signing in needs the session cookie.
Your choices and rights
You do not have to give us any information to read this website. The contact form asks only for what we need in order to reply, and its optional fields can be left empty.
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Send your request through the contact page, if possible from the e-mail address the information relates to, so that we can find it and confirm that the request comes from you.
The law where you live may give you further rights over your personal information. Tell us which right you want to use and we will answer.
Changes to this policy
When this website changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top. The version published here is the one that applies.
The rules for using this website are set out in the terms of use.
